“I mean, right now it really is not a nightmare, it’s just one of those things. I guarantee whenever I get married or have a baby, everyone is going to want to know my kid’s name and I’m not going to say it for ages. That’s just the way I want to do it. It’ll come out but it won’t have come from me. They’re going to be really pissed off that I won’t say it and I’m just going to say, ‘No!’ I also have that desire to blurt stuff out, but I’ve learnt I can’t do that. Not when you realize the whole world is listening. That’s why perhaps I look so uncomfortable in interviews at times. I mean, we’ve talked about hiding things and I’ve had to get much more adept at that, sadly. But I’m glad I’m not one of those actresses who is just so ready to open up for everyone.”— Kristen Stewart, on why she doesn’t discuss her relationship with her (English) boyfriend (GQ UK, November 2011)
“I think it’s strange to accept people trying to take photographs and stuff—cause, I mean, mainly because people try and sell it. And any kind of life where people are trying to sell every aspect of your life, and things that aren’t intended to be sold—it just makes me feel tacky, it makes me feel cheap. So I prefer, you know, to keep the personal life personal. Try to, at least.”— Robert Pattinson, on why he doesn’t discuss his relationship with his girlfriend (Water for Elephants German press junket, April 2011)
Three years ago this week, Rob, Kristen and “et al” got together in Thousand Oaks, California to shoot a spread for Vanity Fair to promote Twilight. It’s funny to think of a time where magazines weren’t *begging* for this kind of opportunity but, at the time, no one really knew just how big the Saga would be. One thing, though, became abundantly clear once the photos from this shoot started to emerge, that being that Rob and Kristen were not just otherworldly gorgeous, but that they had the kind of chemistry that few on-screen couples have. That that on-screen pairing led to an off-screen one shouldn’t be a surprise if pictures really do tell a story. As was quoted recently, about another pictorial the hobos did: seeing IS believing.

“It took me ages to think of it, but it ended up being really simple: if you are in love with someone, you can’t see any flaw in the other person. So I finally figured out that I didn’t have to play the most beautiful man on the planet, but just play a man in love.”—Robert Pattinson, on how he prepared to play Edward in Twilight (Vanity Fair 11/08)
“We were always trying to figure out what it should feel like when Edward touched me, how far away he would have to be until he could smell me, things like that.”—Kristen Stewart, on how she prepared (with Rob) to play Bella in Twilight (Vanity Fair 11/08)
